Up Next is a tool for coaches and parents of youth baseball and softball teams. Accounts are for adults. Children never create accounts, never sign in, and never send us anything themselves. We don't sell data and we run no ads. The app itself contains no analytics at all; this website uses Google Analytics to count visits, which is described below.
You must be 18 or older to create an Up Next account. Everything about a player is entered by an adult — their coach, or their own parent or guardian.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and name from them and never see your password. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address Apple gives us.
That's all. No address, no date of birth, no contact details, nothing medical or academic, no statistics.
A coach can invite a player's parent to add that child's photo, walk-up song and pronunciation themselves. When they do:
A photo from a phone normally carries the GPS coordinates of where it was taken. Every photo uploaded to Up Next is re-encoded on our servers, which removes location and all other embedded metadata before it is stored.
A small number of service providers, only to make the app work. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Song search uses Apple's iTunes Search API. We never download, copy or store Apple Music audio — Apple Music plays only through Apple's own player, using your own subscription on your own device.
This website — the pages under playupnext.live — uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. The Up Next app does not. Nothing you do inside the app is reported to Google Analytics or to anyone else.
What Google Analytics receives when you visit this site:
It does not receive your name, your email address, any player's name or photo, or anything else from your account. We have not enabled Google Advertising features, and this data is not used to show you ads.
Invite and sign-in links are deliberately excluded. The guardian setup page and the email sign-in page carry a single-use code in their web address. On those two pages we strip the address down to the page name before anything is sent, so the code itself never reaches Google Analytics. The visit is still counted; the code is not shared.
You can block this in your browser's cookie settings, by using a private window, or with Google's own opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking it does not affect anything in the app or your ability to set up a player.
When anyone picks a walk-up song we add to a count of how often that song is chosen and where in it people tend to start. That's what lets us suggest a starting point. It contains no identity of any kind — not the user, not the player, not the team — and cannot be traced back to anyone.
All of this is in the app, and deletion means the files are gone, not just unlinked:
You can also write to support@playupnext.live and we'll remove it.
Sign-in is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication and we never see your password. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Invitation links are stored only as a one-way hash, so a copy of our database wouldn't yield a usable invitation.
Children don't interact with Up Next. There's no child-facing part of the app, no child accounts, and no way for a child to send us anything. Information about a child is entered by an adult who is either their parent or guardian, or their coach acting with permission.
A parent or guardian can review, replace or delete everything about their child at any time, in the app or by writing to support@playupnext.live.
We'll post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle a player's information, we'll tell account holders in the app.
Send us a message — or write to support@playupnext.live.
